“Dr. Mazeika and his staff literally saved my life”
I have had several head injuries, a couple of small strokes, and severe PTSD. When I was referred to Dr. Mazeika in the later part of 2008, I was having a terrible time functioning. I had been tested in 1995 or 1996 for sleep apnea and was told that I had “slight” sleep apnea.
Dr. Mazeika requested that I have a sleep study in 2008, and found out that I do have sleep apnea and immediately started using the machine (CPAP). I am someone who has some difficulties with the idea of anything on my face, but they were so gentle and patient with me; I was even able to work up to a full face mask. I now get the oxygen to my brain during sleep that I have needed for years. My head is so much clearer, and I am able to go on and get back to the person I was meant to be. Dr. Mazeika and his staff have literally saved my life. I will be 70 soon, and in many ways I am starting all over. I would not have been able to do this without Sound Sleep Health’s patience, guidance and persistently reaching out to help me whenever possible.
“This is a great place to go to get help for your sleep disorders”
I was a patient of another sleep disorder doctor at another sleep center. Several years later I was referred to Sound Sleep Health by my pain doctor. At Sound Sleep Health, from the moment I walked through the front door, I was treated like a princess. The ladies who greeted me made me feel like we were long time friends, as did the doctors and my ARNP. I was referred for a study because I was only able to sleep for 2-4 hours a night, but the atmosphere of the sleep lab made me so comfortable I was able to sleep through the night at my sleep study. I had my own private bathroom with shower, sitting room, and a very comfortable bed in my bedroom.
My husband was so impressed when I gave him a tour of the facility he became a patient of Sound Sleep Health. He is thrilled with h is care and looking forward to his sleep study at the clinic.
From both of us, this is a great place to go to get help for your sleep disorders.
Thanks to All,
“You even did a second sleep study to give me greater health”
I’m pleased to let you know that today, for the first time in six years; I woke up at 8AM without setting two alarms and without exhaustion. I have you (Sound Sleep Health) to thank for this! Your persistence opened the door to my recovery to a restful sleep and clearer day.
You didn’t give up on me after a minor improvement. You even did a second sleep study to give me greater health. My diagnosed Restless Legs Syndrome (RLS) has improved by being treated with appropriate RLS medicine.
This road to recovered health also has me thinking clearer
“I cannot believe how much it has improved my life”
I would like to thank Dr. Mazeika and the Sound Sleep Health staff for making my experience there virtually stress-free.
At the time, I was fearful of having to do sleep studies and possibly having to use a CPAP machine. Dr. Mazeika and his staff put my fears at ease immediately. The staff at your clinic was friendly, helpful, responsive, and worked very hard to ensure that I had a good experience there. When it came time to do a sleep study, I was impressed by the beautiful sleep center and how comfortable my stay was at the facility.
After my diagnostics were complete, I was indeed diagnosed with sleep apnea. The CPAP technician was wonderful in assisting me with finding the right sleep mask and teaching me how to use my new CPAP. At first I felt embarrassed that I would have to use the machine, but the CPAP tech talked me through it and really helped calm my apprehension.
I have now been on the CPAP for several weeks, and I cannot believe how much it has improved my life. I had no idea how bad I felt from sleep problems until the problem was solved. Before, it was difficult for me to fall asleep and it was common for me to wake up 6-8 times (or more) per night. Since I have been on the CPAP, I regularly sleep completely through the night without waking! I used to wake up with headaches and chest pains, which have completely disappeared. It used to take me several hours to get going in the morning, and now I wake refreshed and full of energy immediately upon waking. I have begun losing weight, and feel that my quality of life has improved immensely. I truly feel like a new person!
So, thanks again to your wonderful staff! I wholeheartedly recommend your center to any potential patients and would be happy to talk to anyone who is apprehensive about seeking treatment.
“I had a great night’s sleep”
I wanted to take this opportunity to express my thanks and appreciation to you and your team for the personal service and genuine attention that I received during my evaluation and sleep test. As I mentioned, and I’m sure is the norm with most of your patients, it has been years since I’ve had a good long sleep.
After your evaluation, I quickly scheduled my sleep test at your office. Needless to say, I was not looking forward to that experience. To be hooked up to numerous machines monitoring every part of my body almost assured me that it would be a total sleepless night. Well, to my pleasant surprise it was an excellent experience and the service provided by your night tech was outstanding. The bed was extremely comfortable, to the point I went out and bought a Tempurpedic after my visit and the monitoring devices proved not to be an issue. On top of everything, I had a great night’s sleep.

“…can’t sleep without her CPAP”
I’m writing to thank you for all your help the day after the big Dec 14th windstorm when you helped us get the right DC adapter for my wife’s CPAP machine.
Without your help, the seven days we were without power would have been extremely difficult for her. She just can’t sleep without her CPAP.
“Thanks Sound Sleep Health”
I am 61 years old, have 4 children and 19 grandchildren. I have a wonderful job and friends and a nice life. However, before I came to Sound Sleep Health I didn’t sleep well. I woke up about every hour and the nights seemed so long. I didn’t know just what the problem was, but told myself that there was nothing that could be done.
I began to feel very sick and tired. At one point, trudging home from work, knowing I would just go to bed and not do a single thing I remember thinking, “I am going to die if I don’t do something about this.” I was falling asleep on the bus and in church and at the movies.
I became a patient at Sound Sleep Health in October of 2005. I went to the Northgate clinic for the study and was happily surprised at how easy it was. The room was really nice, the bed was good; the person who helped me put me at ease and was really kind.
I now have a full face mask and a CPAP machine with a humidifier. It took a little trial and error to find the right mask, the right strength of air etc. but when we did, I began to sleep and get great results.
Thanks Sound Sleep Health. Anyone who is considering getting a study should just go ahead and do it. There is nothing daunting about the study, only helpfulness and information. You will realize many benefits you never associated with the ability to sleep. Go for it!
“I look forward to each and every day”
Before going on the CPAP I had chronic problems with my breathing. I found myself breathing very shallow during the day prior to using the CPAP and had to concentrate on my breathing.
Through the testing I had at Sound Sleep Health they found I had sleep apnea and a collapse in my air tube that periodically shut down my breathing while I slept. It caused me to be very lethargic. I woke feeling like I had not slept. I think it also had a lot to do with making me depressed quite frequently and now I look forward to the coming day.
I am thrilled with the unit and it has made a great change in my everyday living and I look forward to each and every day.
Improvements with Sound Sleep Health:
My stress level lowered because I’m able to think clearer which helps me to get more work done more efficiently. My speech has improved – Not as forgetful in conversation with my thoughts.
I have no more morning headaches! I use to wake up feeling like I had a hangover, my vision would be blurry, and I was off balance and had bad headaches.
My caffeine intake has decreased – I used to drink 6 diet cokes a day, now, only 1 if that.
I quit smoking.
My friends all tell me how I’m fun again like I used to be.
I have energy!
“It’s great to feel great! Give it a try!”
I was a major skeptic about anything to do with sleep apnea. I slept just fine and felt good. After looking into having my knees replaced and being told by my doctor I needed to be screened for sleep apnea first, I reluctantly saw Dr. Mazeika.
Well, let me tell you; you CAN have a better night’s sleep and you CAN feel much better! A side benefit is losing 20lbs with no effort. I would not trade anything for any amount of money. I know I look funny going to bed. My husband teases me about being a “jet jockey.” However, happy wives make happy husbands. The upside is how much better I feel in the morning.
It’s great to feel great! Give it a try!
“After the first night’s sleep I woke up feeling good”
I went to a Health Fair at work and Sound Sleep Health was there. I filled out a questionnaire and was told I should have a sleep study done. On my first visit I told the doctor the only solution I was willing to even consider was surgery.
When I was told how many times I quit breathing I was shocked. I reluctantly agreed to try the CPAP machine. After the first night’s sleep I woke up feeling good. It is so amazing what a difference it makes.
“I have more energy and seem to be thinking clearer”
For a long time I have been having trouble getting a good night sleep. Tossing and turning all night long, waking up in the middle of the night and not getting back to sleep.
Even worse, my snoring was keeping my wife awake. I frequently had headaches from not getting enough sleep and it was impacting my performance at work.
I finally realized that I needed to do something and went to see Dr. Gandis Mazeika at Sound Sleep. We talked a bit, then he did a brief exam. A few nights later I came back to the office to do a sleep study. What he found out was that I had very severe sleep apnea and that I was not getting enough sleep to actually ever get rested. I am now using a CPAP machine that is resolving the issues associated with the apnea.
I feel great, waking up in the morning when the alarm is going off the first time. I have more energy and seem to be thinking clearer. If you are not sleeping, I would give these guys a call. They also have a clinic on the Eastside in Juanita area.
